Nearest Railway Station to Mayfair

The nearest railway station to Mayfair is the Victoria station. This railway station dates from the nineteenth century, but it was renovated several times and now serves London's current railway network with modern trains.

About the Victoria station

The Victoria station, named for nearby Victoria Street, is located in Belgravia in central London, is accessible to the handicapped and has 19 platforms. This station is extremely busy; it serves nearly 80 million passengers per year, and, at times, it suffers from overcrowding that forces authorities to only allow egress from the station. Preparatory work has started on alleviating these problems, including a new entrance and a new ticket office.

Taking the underground line

While the Victoria Station is the nearest conventional railway station to Mayfair, it connects to the London Underground subway network's Victoria line. This line has a route to the Green Tube station, which is a quarter of the distance from Mayfair as the Victoria station itself; the Green Tube station is only five minutes away from Mayfair's Berkeley Square, making it an excellent choice for tourists who do not wish to pay high coach or cab fares. The Victoria station also connects to the Circle and District lines of the London Underground network.

Tourists from the United States and other areas are encouraged to visit Mayfair by the London railway system and the London Underground, as this extensive network covers the entire city and makes going to Mayfair and other points of interest easy.
